The Medserve-LUTH Cancer Centre retains “The Most Outstanding Oncology Centre in Nigeria ” award for fourth consecutive year

The Medserve-LUTH Cancer Centre (MLCC) has been named the “Most Outstanding Oncology Centre in Nigeria” for the fourth consecutive year.

The Award was given at the 12th Nigerian Healthcare Excellence Award (NHEA) on 26th June, 2026. This prestigious consecutive win solidifies MLCC’s reputation as the region’s ultimate benchmark for advanced, compassionate, and life-saving cancer care.

As the largest and best-equipped cancer treatment facility in West Africa, MLCC seamlessly integrates cutting-edge technology with clinical expertise. Located within the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) in Idi-Araba, Lagos, the centre provides highly specialized, multidisciplinary outpatient care that eliminates the need for patients to seek medical tourism abroad.

Securing this honor for four years running is a profound validation of our team’s relentless dedication. It reflects our commitment to breaking barriers in cancer treatment, investing in world-class infrastructure, and ensuring that every patient who walks through our doors receives international-standard care right here in Nigeria.

Since its inception, Medserve-LUTH Cancer Centre has transformed the oncology care landscape in West Africa by offering a holistic approach to radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and supportive therapies. This four-year streak of national recognition affirms that the centre’s model of unified, multidisciplinary care is not just leading the industry, but actively rewriting the future of cancer survivorship across the region.

Organised by Global Health Project and Resources in collaboration with the Anadach Group, the event brought together leading stakeholders in Nigeria’s health sector. The Honourable Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako, attended as the Special Guest of Honour, while the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, served as the Chief Host.

‎Representing the Centre, the Chief Clinical Coordinator of the Medserve-LUTH Cancer Centre, Dr. Muhammed Habeebu, received the award on behalf of the Centre.

‎The recognition further reinforces LUTH’s position as a leading tertiary healthcare institution committed to excellence in specialised healthcare delivery, research, innovation and patient-centred care. It also reflects the success of the collaboration between LUTH and Medserve in establishing a centre that has transformed cancer care not only in Nigeria but across the West African sub-region.

‎MLCC success is a testament to the commitment of the Federal Government of Nigeria under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR in providing quality healthcare to Nigerians.
