The Ogun State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Candidate, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, alongside the Deputy Governorship Candidate, Alhaja Lateefat Oyeyemi Sowunmi-Kolapo, the Ogun Central Senatorial Candidate, Senator Iyabo Obasanjo, other PDP candidates, and party leaders, received royal blessings from the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, His Royal Majesty Oba Oludotun Aremu Gbadebo, and the Egba Traditional Council on Sunday, 19th July, 2026.
During the reception, the Alake of Egbaland acknowledged Adebutu’s ancestral roots, noting that his great grandfather, Pa. Alimi Adebutu, lived and was buried at Ijeun Akoni in Odeda Local Government Area, reaffirming the family’s deep historical connection to Egbaland.
The royal audience underscored the importance of preserving cultural heritage while fostering unity and peaceful engagement ahead of the forthcoming elections.
In their speeches, Hon Adebutu, Alhaja Sowunmi-Kolapo and Senator Obasanjo pledged governance if elected next year.
