Nigeria at 66: GoGA Congratulates Amb. Isola, Others

The Good Governance Advocates (GoGA) has congratulated its Principal and Leader, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola, OFR, its members, the people of Ogun State and Nigerians at home and abroad on the occasion of Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.

In a goodwill message marking the anniversary and the beginning of a new month, GoGA described the Independence celebration as an opportunity to reflect on the nation’s journey while renewing commitment to responsible citizenship, national unity, peaceful democratic participation and good governance.

The organisation said independence should not be viewed merely as an annual commemoration but as a continuing call for citizens to contribute to the development, stability and progress of Nigeria.
“As we approach the 2027 general elections, we encourage Nigerians to remain engaged, examine the records and programmes of all candidates, participate peacefully and make informed choices in the interest of Nigeria,” GoGA said.

The organisation urged citizens to remain actively involved in the democratic process and to approach the forthcoming elections with a sense of responsibility and commitment to the nation’s democratic development.

GoGA reaffirmed its commitment to advocating accountable leadership, citizens’ empowerment, peaceful politics and the strengthening of democratic institutions.

Quoting American philosopher and educationist John Dewey, the organisation said, “Democracy has to be born anew in every generation,” stressing the need for sustained citizen participation in preserving and deepening democracy.

GoGA also expressed optimism that the new month would bring peace, prosperity and renewed hope to Ogun State and Nigeria.

It prayed for God’s continued blessings on Nigeria and divine guidance for all those entrusted with the responsibility of serving the nation.
