A 200 Level student from the Department of Cyber Security Science of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Ige Paul Adekunle, has been declared second overall in an International Hacking Competition, organized by Hackerlab, the agency for Information System and Digital (ASIN).
The competition which was held between October 10 and 12, in Cotonou, Benin Republic, was with the support of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

Fifteen member countries of ECOWAS participated in addition to Mauritania, in the competition.
A consolation prize of $1,200 and a set of training kits for the Certified Hacker and Forensic Investigation (CHFI), was given to the team led by Ige in who he’s the only student of LAUTECH.
A letter from the Department of Cyber Security Science, signed by the Acting Head of Department, Dr. Iyabo Omotoso, congratulated members of the LAUTECH community and thanked staff and students of the Department for providing Ige with a conducive environment.
