INEC declares APC’s Oyebanji Ekiti Governor -Elect

The Independent National Electoral Commission( INEC)has declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Biodun Oyebanji, the winner of the Saturday, 18th June,2022, Ekiti State governorship election.

Returning Officer for the election, Prof Kayode Adebowale, announced the results.

Adebowale, who is also the Vice Chancellor, University of Ibadan said, “Oyebanji, having scored the highest number of votes is hereby declared the winner and returned elected as the governor-elect of Ekiti State”

The APC candidate scored 187,057 votes to defeat his closest rival from the SDP, former Governor Segun Oni, who got 82,211 votes. The PDP garnered 67,457 votes.

13 other parties participated in Saturday’s governorship election.
