The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has congratulated Professor Tunde Musibau Akanni on his recent investiture as a Fellow of the Society of Peace Studies (SPSP), describing the honour as a well-deserved recognition of his contributions to journalism and conflict-sensitive communication.
In a congratulatory letter dated October 7, 2026 and signed by Yisau A. Adepoju, Head of Department, Administration, on behalf of the Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of the FCCPC, the Commission said Akanni’s recognition was received with “great delight” by its management and staff.
The Commission said the fellowship was a testament to the professor’s “laudable scholarly contributions” to journalism, particularly his sustained commitment to Conflict-Sensitive Journalism and Development Communication.
According to the FCCPC, Akanni has consistently demonstrated passion for a strand of communication practice that promotes sustainable social change and improves the quality of life, particularly in developing countries.
“Given your remarkable track record, therefore, this honour comes as no surprise. It is both timely and richly deserved,” the Commission stated.
The FCCPC expressed confidence that Akanni would continue to make Nigeria and the global academic community proud through his future scholarly and professional engagements.
