Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola-YAYI, has engaged journalists at the Iwe Iroyin Press Centre in Abeokuta, Ogun State, where he spoke on his nine-pillar ITESIWAJU agenda and plans for his forthcoming state-wide campaign tour.
Adeola, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, addressed members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) during an interactive session aimed at explaining his development agenda and engaging the media ahead of the election.
The ITESIWAJU agenda, according to Adeola, is built around nine key areas which he has identified as priorities for the development of Ogun State.
The nine pillars are Infrastructure; Tourism and Culture; Education and Environment; Security and Law Enforcement; Inclusive Health and Wellbeing; Women, Youth and Poverty Alleviation; Agriculture and Food Security; Job Creation and Industrialisation; and Urban and Physical Development.
Adeola said the agenda would provide the policy framework for his campaign as he embarks on a state-wide tour to engage communities, stakeholders and residents across Ogun State.
He used the interaction at Iwe Iroyin to explain the focus of the agenda and outline his vision for advancing development across different sectors of the state.
The APC candidate was accompanied by his running mate, Alhaja Kudirat Abiodun Adegunwa-Balogun; Senator Lekan Mustapha; Director-General of the APC Campaign Council, Rt. Hon. Titi Oseni-Shodunke; and former Speakers of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Tunji Egbetokun and Hon. Jimoh Ojugbele.
Also on the delegation were the APC senatorial candidate for Ogun West, Hon. Lai Taiwo, and Chief Kayode Odunaro, Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee of the Ogun State APC Campaign Council.
The engagement also featured interaction between Adeola and journalists on issues relating to the forthcoming election, his policy priorities and the proposed campaign tour.
In recognition of his engagement with the media and as part of activities marking the 50th anniversary of the NUJ in Ogun State, the Ogun State Council of the union, led by its Chairman, Akinwale Olarenwaju, decorated Adeola as a Golden Jubilee Ambassador.
The recognition formed part of the NUJ’s celebration of five decades of journalism and media activities in the state.
Adeola is expected to take the ITESIWAJU message to communities across Ogun’s three senatorial districts as his state-wide campaign activities commence.
