The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola- Yayi, has met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing appreciation for the Federal Government’s continued support for major development projects in the state.
Adeola met with the President following Tinubu’s return from vacation, taking time out of his ongoing consultations and mobilisation activities ahead of the 2027 general elections to discuss issues concerning Ogun State and the nation.
A major focus of the meeting was the $7 billion Gateway Deep Sea Port and Ogun State Blue Marine Special Economic Zone project, which Adeola commended the President for supporting.
The APC governorship candidate said the project represented a significant opportunity to transform Ogun State’s economic landscape, attract investment, create jobs and strengthen the state’s position as a major industrial and logistics hub.
Adeola also discussed matters of national importance with the President, including the implementation of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda and its impact on economic growth, infrastructure development and national prosperity.
He expressed confidence in the direction of the country under the Tinubu administration, saying the ongoing reforms were laying the foundation for sustainable economic growth, development and shared prosperity.
The meeting was also attended by the Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, and the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The engagement further highlighted Adeola’s stated commitment to strengthening collaboration between Ogun State and the Federal Government, particularly in areas of infrastructure, investment and economic development.
It also comes as the senator intensifies consultations and mobilisation across Ogun State ahead of the 2027 governorship election, while advocating continuity and closer alignment between the state and the Federal Government.
