ILCS Appoints Adenipekun Registrar/CEO, Elevates Others

The Institute of Leadership Coaching and Strategy (ILCS) has appointed Mr. Sunday Adenipekun, FILCS, as its new Registrar/Chief Executive, as part of efforts to strengthen the institute’s leadership and accelerate its institutional growth.

Adenipekun’s appointment was approved by the Governing Council following a rigorous recruitment process, and he officially assumed duty on Monday, October 5, 2026.

The institute, in a statement signed by its Media Consultant, Barrister Jide Ologun, FILCS, described the new Registrar/CEO as a seasoned governance and business membership organisation (BMO) expert with 38 years of post-qualification experience.

It said Adenipekun brings extensive experience spanning 24 years in not-for-profit membership organisations and 11 years in a Federal Government development financial institution.

He also has 16 years of senior management experience across three leading business membership organisations, including the Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria (CIoD), Financial Institutions Training Centre (FITC) and Mission Support Agency International (MISAI).

Until his new appointment, Adenipekun was the immediate past Director of the Academy at the Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria, where he also served several times in an acting capacity as Director-General/Chief Executive Officer.

According to the ILCS, his track record in institutional development, governance and strategic management of membership-based organisations has positioned him to provide the leadership required to take the emerging institute into its next phase of development and impact.

The Governing Council urged members of the institute to extend a warm welcome to Adenipekun and support him as he begins his tenure.
Meanwhile, the council expressed appreciation to the pioneer Registrar/Chief Executive, Mrs. Ifeoma Adeniyi, FILCS, for her dedicated service and contributions to the development of the institute from its inception.

Adeniyi has subsequently been appointed as the Second Vice President of the institute, following approval by the Governing Council at its meeting held on September 30, 2026.

The institute also announced the appointment of three new Chairmen of Standing Committees who will serve on the Governing Council as part of its expansion programme.
They are Dr. Morounfoluwa Oluwatosin Oyebola, FILCS, Chairman, Membership Experience Committee; Mrs. Abdulwarees-Solanke Monsurat Modupe, FILCS, Chairman, Finance and General Purpose Committee; and Dr. Kolawole Akintunji Oyeyemi, FILCS, Chairman, Collaboration and Strategy Committee.

In a congratulatory letter to the new appointees, the President and Chairman of Council, Dr. Olasunkade Azeez, FILCS, urged them to deploy their talents, resources and time towards the diligent service of the institute.

Azeez stressed the collective responsibility of the new leadership to accelerate the growth and advancement of the ILCS, with a view to positioning it as a formidable professional body in Nigeria and beyond.

The institute wished Adenipekun and the other newly appointed officers a successful tenure in their respective positions.
