England’s World Cup squad suffered a major setback ahead of their opening match against Croatia, with vehicles transporting their equipment broken into in Kansas City, USA.
Missing items include players’ match boots, coaching analysis gear, official tournament balls, and uniforms.
The theft occurred on Friday night, while the materials were being transported from England’s pre-tournament base in Florida.
Custom match boots belonging to star players (feared to include Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham) were taken, along with training gear, massage tables, and tactic whiteboards.
The Kansas City Police Department is investigating the incident and has apprehended two subjects of interest.
England’s Football Association is said to be working alongside local authorities to recover the stolen valuables or urgently secure replacement equipment so manager Thomas Tuchel’s squad can resume training on schedule.
