Tinubu, Sultan, Zulum, Southwest leaders expected as MUSWEN General Assembly meeting holds November

President Bola Tinubu, Southwest states governors, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar are among dignitaries expected at the 11th General Assembly of the Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) holding on November 15 at the University of Ibadan Central Mosque.

Alhaji AbdulRahman Olawale AbdulGhaniy, Chairman of the General Assembly 2026 Central Planning Committee said in a statement issued in Ibadan that the Borno State Governor, Prof Babagana Zulum is expected to deliver the annual lecture.

The annual General Assembly of MUSWEN is attended by leaders of Muslim organizations across the Southwest geopolitical zones.

Apart from the annual lecture, delegates are also expected to ratify the change of leadership of the organisation, as the incumbent president vacates office after leading MUSWEN over the last six years. Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo became the President of MUSWEN) on November 22, 2020, succeeding the late Dr. Sakariyau Olayiwola Babalola.

In the statement, Alhaji AbdulGaniy also called on Muslim philanthropists to support MUSWEN in reaching its goal of raising N2billion to support its projects on empowerment of the less privileged, construction of a state of the art health facility and provision of scholarships for needy members of the Ummah.

MUSWEN is the umbrella body for all Muslims in South Western Nigeria. The primary member-organisations of the body are the Muslim Communities or Muslim Councils of all the States in South West Nigeria.
