President Bola Tinubu and the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, are expected to join other prominent Nigerians to celebrate eminent elder statesman and All Progressives Congress (APC) leader, Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi, as he clocks 90.
Prince Olusi, who was born on October 13, 1936, will attain the milestone age on October 13, 2026, with a series of events lined up to mark his entry into the nonagenarian club.
The Central Planning Committee for the celebration, in a statement signed by its Secretary, Dr. Seyi Bamigbade, said the activities would attract dignitaries from across the country.
President Tinubu and Senator Oluremi Tinubu are expected to attend the grand celebration as Distinguished Special Guests of Honour.
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, is billed to serve as the Chief Host, while Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire is the Chairperson of the Central Planning Committee.
The celebrations will commence on Saturday, October 3, with the formal installation of Prince Olusi as the Baba Adinni of Yorubaland by the Yoruba Land Council of Islamic Preachers.
The installation will be led by the National Ameer of the council, Sheikh Taofeeq Akeugbagold.
The anniversary programme will also feature the Prince Dr. Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi Annual Leadership Symposium and Scholarship Awards, as well as the official launch of the academy associated with the initiative.
On Friday, October 9, a special prayer and thanksgiving service will be held at the Lagos Central Mosque as part of activities marking the milestone birthday.
The celebrations will reach their climax on Tuesday, October 13, Prince Olusi’s 90th birthday, with the Pa Olusi Grand Reception Party.
The committee said the programme was designed to celebrate Prince Olusi’s life and contributions while bringing together political leaders, traditional and religious figures, professionals, family members, friends and associates.
The milestone celebration is expected to provide an opportunity for guests and well-wishers to honour the APC leader and elder statesman as he marks nine decades of life and service.
