Today, I join countless admirers, progressives, friends, and well-wishers across Nigeria and beyond in celebrating an exceptional patriot, distinguished elder statesman, accomplished journalist, visionary administrator and one of the foremost architects of progressive politics in Nigeria, His Excellency, Chief Akinrogun Olusegun Osoba, CFR, as he marks his 87th birthday.
Your remarkable life remains a shining testimony to unwavering commitment to truth, justice, democratic ideals and selfless service to humanity. As a fearless journalist, you elevated the standards of investigative reporting and defended press freedom with uncommon courage. As the former Governor of Ogun State, your purposeful leadership laid enduring foundations for good governance, institutional development and sustainable progress that continue to benefit our people.
Beyond public office, your wisdom, humility, political maturity and unwavering dedication to the unity and growth of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), have earned you the respect and admiration of generations of political leaders and followers alike.
