The nation is eagerly awaiting the final result of the Osun Governorship election.
As of Sunday morning, August 16, 2026, the winner has not yet been officially declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Collation is still ongoing at the INEC collation centre in Osogbo. INEC had announced results from 17 of the 30 local government areas before a break, with collation subsequently resuming.
However, incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party is leading in the results announced so far, while APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji is his main challenger. The published LGA results show Adeleke winning several major LGAs, including Osogbo, Ife East, Ife Central and Ede South, while Oyebamiji has won some others.
