Ogun PDP Deputy Governorship candidate visits Olowu, gets royal blessings

The Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Ogun State, Alhaja (Dr.) Lateefat ‘Yemi Sowunmi-Kolapo, on Friday, paid a courtesy visit to  Oba (Prof.) Saka Adelola Matemilola, the  Olowu of Owu Kingdom, at the Owu Palace in Abeokuta.

The deputy governorship candidate, who is also the Iya Sunnah of Egbaland, said the visit was to receive royal blessings from the revered monarch on her political aspirations ahead of the 2027 elections.

She was accompanied by some notable figures in the Egba Muslim Community, as well as key chieftains of the PDP.

Alhaja Sowunmi-Kolapo, who is also the first Ameerah of Ogun State Muslims, was warmly received by the Olowu, who prayed for the team.

Traditional and political leaders present at the meeting took turns to extol the virtues of the deputy governorship candidate, pointing out her contributions to the Muslim community and Egbaland as a whole.
