The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ogun State Command, has sought the support of Fuji music icon, Alhaji (Dr.) Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, in strengthening security awareness and youth-oriented advocacy across the state.
The State Commandant of the NSCDC, Commandant Remilekun Omolade Ekundayo, made the appeal on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, during a courtesy visit to the Fuji musician at his residence in Ogun State.
The visit, according to the Command, formed part of its non-kinetic approach to security management, which focuses on community engagement, stakeholder collaboration and public enlightenment.
Ekundayo described K1 De Ultimate as a national treasure and a proud son of Ogun State, commending his decades-long contribution to the growth and international recognition of Fuji music and the promotion of Yoruba cultural heritage.
She also noted the musician’s longstanding influence, from his years as a member of the late Chief Dr. Sikiru Ayinde Barrister’s Supreme Fuji Commanders between 1978 and 1984 to his emergence as the acclaimed King of Fuji.
According to the Commandant, the influence of prominent cultural and entertainment figures could be harnessed to positively shape the attitudes of young people and promote responsible citizenship.
“Our visit is to seek the support and partnership of our father, the King of Fuji, in our security advocacy,” Ekundayo said.
She added that music and entertainment had significant influence on youths, stressing that the NSCDC needed influential partners who could help amplify messages on peace, responsible citizenship, patriotism, anti-drug abuse and anti-vandalism.
The Commandant said the NSCDC, among other responsibilities, was mandated to protect Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, safeguard lives and property, and sensitise members of the public against vandalism and other forms of criminality.
She therefore called for collaboration with K1 De Ultimate in taking security messages to the grassroots, particularly young people.
Responding, the Fuji icon expressed delight at the visit and commended the Ogun State Command of the NSCDC for what he described as its proactive and professional approach to security management.
Ayinde pledged his continued support for the NSCDC and other security agencies in Ogun State in their efforts to maintain peace, protect lives and property, and create a secure environment for residents.
He also commended the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, for his efforts at repositioning the Corps.
The musician assured the State Commandant of his readiness to work with the NSCDC, particularly in its security sensitisation and youth-focused advocacy programmes.
The Command said the engagement demonstrated the importance of strategic partnerships beyond conventional policing and enforcement, particularly in reaching young people and communities through influential cultural and entertainment platforms.
Senior officers of the Ogun State Command and members of the K1 De Ultimate band management team attended the meeting.
