Two committees critical to Hajj operations were inaugurated on Tuesday, 12th of November, 2025, by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
The two committees – Screening of Application Committee and Inspection of Nationwide Offices Committee – were inaugurated by the Commissioner of Operations, Inspectorate, and Licensing, Prince Anofie Olarenwaju Elegushi, according to a report by Mariam Zubair Abubakar, an official of NAHCON.
The Screening of Application Committee had Alhaji Alidu Shutti as head , while the Inspection of Nationwide Offices Committee is led by Alhaji Abdul-Ghaffar.
Prince Elegushi speaking during the inaugurations urged the committees to be upright and carry out their duties with diligence and uprightness.
He further appealed to the committee members to be mindful of time, as the Commission needs to keep pace with the 2025 Hajj calendar.
Finally, he wished them safety and protection on their nationwide tour. Alhaji Elegushi also reminded them that their reports would be strictly adhered to and must be accurate and reliable, as the Commission relies on them.
Alhaji Abdul-Ghaffar, head of the Inspection Team, in his response, expressed gratitude to the Commission for considering the committee members worthy of this assignment. He promised to be diligent and efficient in delivering the task entrusted to them and assured that they would complete it within the specified timeframe.
