Chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman has urged the new Hajj and Umrah Operators Association to deliver topnotch services to Nigerian pilgrims.
Professor Saleh Usman gave the challenge on Wednesday 4th December 2024 when officials of the recently registered association paid him a courtesy visit and congratulate him on his assumption of duty as the new Chairman/CEO of the Commission.

The NAHCON Chairman assured the delegation led by their president, Alhaji Mohammed Auwal Sulaiman that the Commission is for all and ever ready to work with them in serving the pilgrims and projecting a good image of the country.
He further advised members of the association to unite and boost their performance in delivering better service to their pilgrims.
“The doors of the Commission are always open and ever ready to work with you whenever they need support, “ Professor Saleh Usman assured.
NAHCON Commissioner of Operations, Prince Anofiu Elegushi Olanrewaju, while introducing officials of the new association to the NAHCON Chairman had also cautioned against undue rivalry amongst private tour operators.
“We do not expect rivalry but cooperation,” he said.
In his speech, the President of the association, Alhaji Mohammed Auwal Sulaiman, informed the NAHCON Chairman about their being registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), which he said, makes them eligible for the recognition as part of the Hajj industry.
“NAHCON being the body to rely on, the Association’s board members decided to visit the Commission to inform them of their existence,” Alhaji Sulaiman said.
He assured the Commission of their loyalty and support to its mandate.
Secretary of the association, Alhaji Bemekun Rasheed Adekunle, on his part said he was impressed he was with the recent refund NAHCON made to the Nigerian pilgrims, which he pointed out was the first of its kind.
He assured the Commission of
their solidarity and support for better service delivery to the Nigerian pilgrims.
The association’s Legal Adviser, Hajiya Kehinde, stated that transparency, accountability, and honesty would be their watchwords.
