The Chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Prof Abdullahi Saleh Usman on Monday joined fellow alumni, scholars and other dignitaries the International Forum of Saudi University Graduates in the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Surrounding Countries, holding between Monday, October 6 and Tuesday, 7, 2025, in Abuja.
The NAHCON Chairman is a distinguished alumnus of University of Madinah, Saudi Arabia.
The International Forum is being hosted by King Khalid University in partnership with the University of Tabuk and Najran University and organized under the auspices of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Education.
The Forum is bringing together Saudi-trained graduates from Nigeria, Chad, Cameroon, and Gabon to deepen educational and cultural cooperation between Saudi Arabia and West Africa.
The main focus of the Forum is sustainable development.
The opening ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including Nigeria’s Minister of State for Education, Dr. Suwaiba Saidu Ahmed, NAHCON CEO, Professor Abdullahi Sale Usman
and the Chargé d’Affaires of the Saudi Embassy in Abuja, Mr. Saad bin Fahd Al-Marri among others.
Sessions and presentations at the forum are highlighting the contributions of Saudi university graduates to key sectors, such as:
• Education
• Economy
• Agriculture
• Media
• Humanitarian work
The Forum is also showcasing several graduate-led projects, including:
A “Cooperative Microfinance Window” to support small businesses.
“Cattle Fattening Projects” to enhance food security.
“Quran Memorization Efforts” and the establishment of teachers’ colleges.
