Eid Mubarak! 🌙
As we celebrate the joyous occasion of Eid El Fitr, marking the end of the blessed month of Ramadan, the Muslim Public Affairs Centre (MPAC) extends its warmest congratulations to the entire Muslim Ummah. May this special day bring us closer to Allah (SWT), and may our fasting, prayers, and devotion during Ramadan be accepted by Him.
As we celebrate Eid El Fitr, we reflect on the month’s lessons and Nigeria’s challenges.
We remember the agony of Nigerian Muslims who spent the whole period of Ramadan under the attack, fear and threat of terrorists, bandits and kidnappers. Innocent men, women, and children continue to be slaughtered and kidnapped daily. Communities live in fear, families mourn, and countless lives have been lost to insurgency, banditry, and preventable violence. This is a national emergency and a painful indictment of our collective failure to protect the most vulnerable among us. Our prayers and thoughts are with all victims of insecurity – innocent lives lost, injured, and displaced.
We continue to call on the Nigerian government to act decisively: protect every citizen , ensure justice for victims, and restore peace and security across the nation. Words alone will not save lives – action must follow. Now is the time to demonstrate leadership, courage, and accountability.
Ramadan, the month of mercy, forgiveness, and spiritual growth, has once again come to an end. As we break our fast and gather with loved ones, let us reflect deeply on the significance of this sacred month and the responsibility it places upon us to uphold justice, compassion, and righteousness in all circumstances.
The Quran reminds us:
“O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous.” – Quran 2:183
As we celebrate Eid El Fitr, let us remember our brothers and sisters in Palestine, who have faced decades of occupation and oppression, and who are forced to celebrate the eid surrounded by rubbles. Today, over 90,000 lives have been brutally taken under Israel’s ongoing assault on Gaza – families wiped out, children orphaned, and entire communities erased. The West Bank continues to endure mass arrests, extrajudicial killings, and state-sanctioned terror. Yet, the world watches while injustice persists.
We also strongly condemn the recent aggression by the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran, particularly the targeted killing of its Supreme Leader and senior officials during the sacred month of Ramadan. Such actions represent a dangerous escalation, a blatant violation of international norms, and a grave affront to the sanctity of human life and the sacredness of the blessed month of Ramadan. We stand in solidarity with the people of Iran at this critical time and pray that Allah (SWT) grants the nation peace, stability, and strength in the face of foreign aggression, state-sponsored terrorism and loss.
As Muslims, we cannot afford to be mere observers. We must raise our voices against oppression, amplify the cries of the oppressed, and actively support efforts that defend justice, human dignity, and the sanctity of life. Ramadan has taught us not only restraint, but responsibility.
As we bid farewell to Ramadan, we extend our sincere gratitude to all who supported MPAC during this blessed month. Your Zakat, Sadaqah, and prayers empower our work and strengthen our resolve to continue serving the Muslim community while promoting peace, justice, and understanding. May Allah (SWT) accept your sacrifices, elevate your ranks, and multiply your rewards in this life and the Hereafter. Amin.
As the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
“Whoever helps his brother in his time of need, Allah will help him in his time of need.” – Hadith, reported by Abu Dawud
May Allah restore peace and security to Nigeria, bless us with prosperity, piety and happiness, and reward you and your families with goodness, peace, and abundant blessings.
Eid Mubarak from the entire MPAC team.
