Kingmakers install Ghandi Afolabi Laoye as Soun of Ogbomoso

Prince Afolabi Ghandi Laoye was on Friday officially installed as the new Soun of Ogbomosoland. The kingmakers of the community performed the installation ceremony at Abata, with the Areago High Chief Sobalaje Otolorin leading the proceedings.

Ghandi, a pastor and international businessman, arrived in Ogbomoso early in the morning via a private chopper. The aircraft landed at Ogbomoso Grammar School before he made his way to the palace.

The installation ceremony marked the beginning of Prince Afolabi Ghandi Laoye’s reign as the Soun of Ogbomoso. Despite news of a court injunction, the kingmakers said they had not received any legal order preventing them from carrying out the installation.
