JAMB suspends admission into Law programme in one additional university

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Friday added one more university to the earlier eight it said it would not conduct admissions into Law programme for the the 2025/2026 academic session.

This was contained in a statement by Dr Fabian Benjamin,Public Communications Advisor, JAMB.

He said “The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announces the suspension of admissions into the Law Faculty of Fountain University, Osogbo for the 2025/26 academic session. This follows an  additional submission from the Council of Legal Education (CLE), making  Fountain University the ninth institution where JAMB will not be conducting admissions into the Law programme for the 2025/26 academic session.

“JAMB had earlier disclosed that it would not process admissions for the Law programme in eight  Nigerian universities owing to the suspension of their Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) programme by the CLE. The universities earlier affected are:

1.Kwara State University, Malete, Ilorin, Kwara State
2.Bingham University, Karu, Nasarawa State
3.Redeemers University, Ede, Osun State
4.Western Delta University, Oghara, Delta State
5.Taraba State University, Jalingo, Taraba State
6.Arthur Jarvis University, Akpabuyo, Cross River State
7.Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State
8.Nigerian Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State,  Fountain University, Osogbo, Osun State as the ninth one. ”

The JAMB spokesman added that “It is important to reiterate  that the suspension of the Law programme at the Nigerian Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, will last  for two academic sessions, specifically the 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 sessions, based on the decision of the Council of Legal Education (CLE).”
