JAMB spokesman wins National Spokespersons Award of Excellence

Public Communications Advisor of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB),
Dr. Fabian Benjamin has
received the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations ( NIPR) distinguished National Spokespersons Award of excellence as the 2025 Outstanding Spokesperson (Education Sector).

The award ceremony took place on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, in Abuja Continental Hotel with the theme: “Integrity and the Evolving Roles of Spokespersons in Leadership Communication.”

The Chairman of the award’s Adjudication Committee, Dr. Shaibu Husseini, while commending the nominees in all the categories ,namely Outstanding Spokesperson (Education Sector), Distinguished Spokesperson of the Year (Oil and Gas), Best Corporate Spokesperson Team, Most Supportive CEO to Spokespersons (Public Sector), Outstanding Spokesperson (Marine and Blue Economy) and  Outstanding Spokesperson (Security Services), among others, emphasized that the selection process was rigorous and driven by merit.

Dr. Benjamin, a scholar and professional par excellence, has had a remarkable academic and career journey.

His academic excellence began with a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Public Administration from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

He further advanced his knowledge with a Master of Science in Public Administration and Policy Analysis from the University of Abuja in 2009. His crowning achievement came in 2015 with a Ph.D. in Policy Analysis from the University of Abuja.

Dr. Benjamin’s professional affiliations and certifications showcase his dedication to his craft. He is an Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria.

His expertise has been honed through training programs in the USA, UK, Qatar Skill Centre, and other esteemed institutions.
With extensive experience in educational assessment, Dr. Benjamin has attended international conferences and workshops, including IAEA, AWAU, and the Association for Education Assessment in Africa.

He has attended conferences in Kingston, Jamaica; Dakar, Senegal; Cotonou, Benin Republic; Maseru, Lesotho; Berlin, Germany; Vienna, Austria; and Banjul, The Gambia.

Dr. Benjamin’s career at JAMB spans over two decades, starting as an Administrative Officer in 2002. He has risen through the ranks, serving as Head of the Information Unit and now as the Public Communication Advisor of the Board.

The National Spokespersons Awards is Nigeria’s foremost platform for celebration of excellence in public relations, strategic communication, and media management. The award is an annual celebration of individuals and organizations that demonstrate professionalism, innovation, and impactful public communication.
