INEC declares APC’s Omoleye winner in Ekiti Central Federal Constituency II

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate for Ekiti Central Federal Constituency II, Hon. Biodun Omoleye,as winner of Saturday’s election.

Prof. Ahmed Olaide, the returning officer of the election, declared the result on Sunday at INEC’s collation centre in Aramoko-Ekiti.

Omoleye was declared winner having  polled a total of 29,296 votes to defeat his closest rival from the People’s Democratic party, Olalere Olayinka,  who garnered  11,504. The candidate of Social Democratic Party, Olasupo Adeniyi came 3rd with 6,749.

According to Olaide,Hon. Biodun Omoleye, having fulfilled the requirements,is hereby declared winner.

In his reaction, Omoleye said that he was happy with the outcome of the results. The former Chief of Staff, while receiving a copy of the election results from the party’s agent, Barrister Dele Oloje, expressed appreciation to God Almighty for the victory at the poll. He also thanked the governor of Ekiti state,Mr Abayomi Oyebanji and party leaders for their supports.

“I make bold to say that the victory is not only for me but for the Progressives family and all the people from my constituency”.

“I appreciate those that supported me to make this dream a reality”.
