The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved the posting of new Police Public Relations Officers (PPROs) and Public Relations Liaison Officers to selected commands and formations of the Nigeria Police Force.
The postings are said to be aimed at strengthening strategic communication, improving public access to credible police information and enhancing engagement with the media and other stakeholders.
The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday, October 9, 2026.
According to the statement, Superintendent of Police (SP) Johnson A. Doghudje has been posted as the Police Public Relations Officer for Zone 5 and can be reached on 08038773657.
Similarly, SP Ojedele Olanrewaju Tunji has been posted to Zone 11, Osogbo, and can be contacted on 09152481510.
The statement further disclosed that Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Orchia Adndongu has been posted to the Benue State Police Command, with 07013495466 as his contact number.
DSP Imah Unwana Victor has been assigned to the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) and can be reached on 08038281577.
Others affected by the postings include Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Abdulaziz Maharazu, who has been posted to the Police Academy (POLAC) and can be contacted on 07064684936.
ASP Yusuf Adamu Aliyu has been posted to the Yobe State Police Command, with 08136394230 as his contact number.
Also, ASP Haruna Rashid Umar Abdullahi has been appointed Public Relations Liaison Officer for the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Gombe State and can be reached on 08130313033.
The IGP charged the newly posted officers to uphold professionalism, responsiveness and accuracy in the discharge of their duties.
He also urged them to ensure the timely dissemination of verified information and maintain constructive engagement with members of the public and the media.
The statement encouraged journalists and members of the public to contact the respective officers for verified information and enquiries concerning police activities within their areas of responsibility.
The Nigeria Police Force reiterated its commitment to strengthening transparency, public communication and constructive engagement as essential components of effective and people-centred policing.
