As part of efforts to make pilgrims fulfil their rites in the Holy Land of Mecca, the Governor of Niger State, Umaru Muhammad Bago, has approved the payment of Hadayah (Animal Sacrifice) to all intending pilgrims in the State.
Executive Secretary, Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Sheikh Muhammad Awwal Aliyu, announced this in a press statement.
He said the decision was taken by the Governor to cushion the effects of the current financial turmoil faced in the country especially intending pilgrims having suffered from this year’s high Hajj fare.
The Executive Secretary also issued a stern warning to anyone who had collected money already from the pilgrims for the Hadayah to refund the monies to them immediately or face full wrath of the law.
The Executive Secretary then commended the Governor for the continuous support and cooperation.
