Gov. Diri meets with EU Delegation on security within Bayelsa waterways

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, on Monday met with a top-level delegation from the European Union.
The meeting focused on ensuring maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea area, of which Bayelsa is a key part.

Governor Diri assured the delegation of his administration’s commitment to security of the waterways and the communities around its maritime domain.

The EU delegation included the Senior Coordinator for Gulf of Guinea, Nicholas Berlanga, Spain’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Juan Sell, France Naval Attaché to Nigeria, William Tosten, France Naval Captain Ludovic Poitou, Portuguese Naval Coordinator, Gulf of Guinea, Joao Corte-Real and the EU Political Adviser, Thomas Kieler
