The Ministry of Niger Delta and the Ministry of Sports Development have been scrapped.
This was one of the decisions taken on Wednesday at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by President Bola Tinubu.
The FEC also resolved on the creation of a Ministry of Regional Development to supervise all regional development commissions, including the Niger Delta Development Commission, North West Development Commission, South West Development Commission, and North East Development Commission.
The National Sports Commission will assume the responsibilities previously held by the Ministry of Sports.
The FEC has also given its approval for the merger of the Ministry of Tourism with the Ministry of Culture and Creative Economy.
