FFOP Announces 3rd Edition of Undergraduate Scholarship for Oke-Ogun Indigent Students

AS part of efforts to meet the Sustainable Development Goal Number  Four of the United Nations in the country, which centres on “Education for all”, Forum For Oke-Ogun Progress (FFOP), a Non-for-profit organisation, has announced the 3rd edition of it’s fully funded annual undergraduate scholarships for indigent students in and around the Oke-Ogun and environs of Oyo State.

In a statement by the Founder and President of FFOP, Mr. Saheed Adekunle Imran, the Scholarships, which is being implemented in conjunction with the Pa. Kareem Alao Educational Support Scheme, will provide a non-discriminatory opportunity for indigent students in the areas of coverage to actualise their quests for  tertiary  education, irrespective of their poor background.

According to Imran, who doubles as the Coordinator of the Scholarship Programme, the Scholarship opportunity is meant for those in Government-owned Universities across the country, with specific record of academic excellence.

According to him, the criteria for receiving the award, besides being shortlisted, include:

” The condition that  applicant must be an indigene of the Oke-Ogun Zone of Oyo state; Be of sound character; and Have a minimum target of Second Class Upper Credit (3.5 CGPA),” Imran explained.

The organisers furthered that this year’s edition of the scholarship, has been expanded to accommodate more competitive courses that cut across the three line of study classification -Art, Science, and Commercial.

“Besides, successful applicant must be studying in either of the Departments of Accounting/Economics/Law/Pharmacy/Medicine and Surgery/Computer /Civil/Mechanical/Chemical/Elect-Elect Engineering and any other Agricultural Courses”.

Stressing that the application will irretrievably close on the   3rd December, 2023, Imran explained that Suitable Applicants must also  have 5 Distinctions in WAEC/NECO result and be admitted into a government-owned University.
