2027: Afenifere raises the alarm over rising political intolerance, improper conduct

As parties step up campaign for the general election, the sociopolitical Yoruba group, Afenifere has raised the alarm over the wave of improper conduct and intolerance among a section of the political class.
Rising from its monthly national executive committee meeting held in Lagos at the weekend, Afenifere warned that the spate of inflammatory statements and lack of decorum was heating up the polity and conscripting the democratic space.

The organisation expressed these concerns in a communiqué signed by Afenifere National Leader, Oba Oladipo Olaitan, and  the new substantive secretary-general, Mr Alade Rotimi-John, released on Sunday.
