Why I remodeled Ifetedo Central Mosque-  Yusuf Olaolu Ali SAN

It was a historic day at Ifetedo, headquarters of Ife South local government area, on Friday, 13th December 2024 as eminent persons across the country thronged the  town to inaugurate the remodeled multimillion Naira Central Mosque.                       
                               
More than N20 million was donated by the personalities for the maintenance of the mosque, remodelled by a renowned legal luminary and eminent indigene of Ifetedo, Professor Yusuf Olaolu Ali (SAN). 

 The roll call of the prominent persons that participated in the inauguration included the Olubosin of Ifetedo Kingdom, Oba Akinola Akinrera, Latiiri 1; Deputy President of the Nigerian Supreme council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) and President of Muslim Ummah of Southwest Nigeria ( MUSWEN), Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo; Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Ishaq Oloyede; Aare musilumi of Yoruba land, Edo and Delta states, Alhaji Dawud Makanjuola Akinola; Asiwaju musulumi of Yoruba land, Alhaji khamis Tunder Badmus and the Chief Imam of Ifetedo Central Mosque, Chief Imam AbdulJabar Hussein Akindunmi among several others.
   

Each of the personalities, in separate remarks on the occasion, profusely  lauded Professor Yusuf Olaolu Ali for his philanthropy and service to Allah and mankind. 

Speaking on the project, Ali said  “What pushed me to remodel the Central Mosque is the call of Allah. Nigerians should be their brother’s keeper. Those whom Allah has endowed should try and bless others.

“Once you die, you are not going to take anything. It is in our interest to invest in people, institutions, communities, and humanity. That’s the only way to go.”

In his goodwill message at the event, the Registrar of JAMB, Prof Ishaq Oloyede, said the mosque should serve as a place that would contribute to the development of Islam.

He said, “It is not a place that would be locked. Apart from praying there, it should be used for other developmental engagements.”
