Vaccines ready as Health Ministry accedes to NAHCON Chairman’s advise on yellow cards

The Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (FMOH&SW) has mobilised staff for the issuance of yellow cards to prospective Nigerian pilgrims for the 2024 Hajj.

This, according to an information from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) on Wednesday followed an advise by Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi, NAHCON Chairman/CEO.

Malam Arabi passed the advise at a recent meeting with NAHCON National Medical Team
(NMT) Principal Officers and Institutional Representative of the FMOH&SW.

Similarly, NAHCON said all necessary vaccines for pilgrims in line with Saudi Arabia Ministry of Health are being put in place.

The Commission assured
that elderly pilgrims aged 55 and above  will receive influenza vaccines which will confer protection against Upper respiratory tract infection (Mura)during Hajj.

“Vaccines are now available to start flights from 15 May 2024. Vaccines for Kebbi, Nassarawa, Kano Katsina Kaduna, Lagos Nassarawa, Yobe and Kogi States have been dispatched today,” NAHCON said.
