Chairman of the Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority, Alhaji Sanusi Baban Takko, has commended President Bola Tinubu over his administration’s Social Investment Programme.
The frontline politician who holds the title of Barayan Bauchi said noteworthy was the president’s of approval of N32.7 billion naira for the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction to improve the lot of less privileged Nigerians.
He said in a statement that
“This gesture and show of compassion by our amiable President Ahmed Bola Tinubu is a further manifestation of his altruistic commitment to the general well-being of ordinary Nigerians, in his quest of bringing better lives, economic prosperity, and common good to the citizenry at this critical period of our national life.
“I say Bravo to the Jagaban Borgu Kingdom and Asiwaju of Lagos! for showing courage and tenacity in his onerous task of nation-building. In the same vein, it is our fervent hope that those tasked with these responsibilities at the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction will rise to the occasion by complementing the sincere desire of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his team to cushion the effects of poverty and squalor at the grassroots level.”
The Barayan Bauchi reaffirmed his commitment, along with his Management Team at the Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority, to collaborate with Development Partners, Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
He said the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction has been identified as a key partner for collaboration, with the ultimate goal of enhancing the general well-being of ordinary Nigerians.
” Indeed, under my stewardship, the Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority’s projects and initiatives highlights key areas that are of utmost importance, including Poverty Reduction. By collaborating with the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, the Authority seeks to reduce poverty and improve living standards among local communities,” he said.

His appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Chairman Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority is well deserved, and the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction has come at the right time to extend humanitarian supports to the Northeast Geopolitical Zone which suffered decades of conflicts and insurgency, the Authority will make significant strides by collaboration with the ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
