Chairman of the Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority, Alhaji Sanusi Baban Takko(Barayan Bauchi), has commended President Bola Tinubu and the National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu on the establishment of Forest Guards.
Alhaji Baban Takko said in a press statement that “This initiative will curb the activities of bandits, kidnappers, terrorists, and other social vices that have plagued Nigerian forests across the country.
“This is indeed a weighty decision, which required political-will that clearly demonstrates President Tinubu’s commitment to bringing about a new era of peace and security in Nigeria. By establishing the Forest Guards, the President has shown his determination to end the security challenges facing the nation. We are proud of this bold initiative, and we are confident that it will have a positive impact on the lives of Nigerians. We are proud of you sir, history and posterity will forever record you, and your visionary administration in positive light!”
He similarly commended Malam Nuhu Ribadu, asking him to fast-track the operation of the Forest Guards. “Given his intellectual wherewithal with unshakable patriotism and capacity, I have no doubt that the NSA will achieve the set goals.”
Alhaji Baban Takko added that “The establishment of the Forest Guards under the Renewed Hope Administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, sends a strong message to the international community and men and women of goodwill globally. It demonstrates the present administration’s commitment to ending all forms of security threats in Nigeria.
“Furthermore, the establishment of the Forest Guards will create millions of job opportunities for energetic Nigerian youths. These youths are great patriots who are always ready to pay the supreme sacrifice in defending their fatherland from external intruders.
“I call on traditional rulers, critical stakeholders, Nigerian youths, and all well-meaning Nigerians to continue supporting the lofty initiatives of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu. His quest to take Nigeria to the next level in the comity of industrialized nations is commendable, and we must all rally behind him.
“In the past two years, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has achieved many remarkable feats, putting in place reforms that will bring prosperity, dividends of democracy, and the common good to the greatest majority.
