UNILORIN Governing Council shortlists Prof Egbewole, 12 others for Vice Chancellorship as Abdulkareem Age’s tenure ends in October


The Governing Council of  University of Ilorin has shortlisted a professor of Law, Wahab Olasupo Egbewole SAN and 12 others for interview for the position of Vice Chancellor due to be vacant next month.

The tenure of the  incumbent vice chancellor, Professor Sulyman Abdulkareem Age, would come to an end in October.


A total of 23 professors were said to have filed application to succeed him.

The list was eventually prunned down to 13 and these are the ones that will attend the interview sessions fixed for Monday and Tuesday next week.


Those shortlisted for interview, apart from Prof Egbewole are: Prof. Mohammed Olanrewaju Ibrahim, Prof. Ahmad Shehu Abdulsalam,
Prof. Olubunmi Abayomi Omotesho, Prof. Bashiru Ademola Raji, Prof. Ibraheem Ademola Katibi and Prof. Mikhaila Olayinka Buhari.

Others are: Prof. Isaac Abiodun Adimula, Prof. Hassan Ajisafe Saliu, Prof. Suleiman Folorunsho Ambali, Prof. Raheem Adebayo Lawal, Prof. AbdulRasaq Akinola Alada and Prof. Baki Toyin Abdulrahim.

After next week’s exercise, the Governing Council is expected to  present three names to the Visitor of UNILORIN,  President Muhammadu Buhari who will then pick the vice chancellor from the list.
