The Obafemi Awolowo University Muslim Graduates’ Association (UNIFEMGA) is set to celebrate 29 distinguished members for their remarkable achievements and excellence in their professional and humanitarian works.
The programme is scheduled for Saturday 8th February 2025, and marks the 15th edition of its kind and will take place at Bovina-View Hotel, Ilorin, Kwara State.
UNIFEMGA, comprising of Muslim graduates of Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Osun State, aims to recognize and honor its standout members.
The occasion will feature a lecture titled ” Nigeria’s Econnomic Reforms: Mitigating the Challenges through sustainable Socio- Economic Measures,” to be delivered by Hon Justice Ahmad Abdul Raheem Sayi Qadi, Shariah Court of Appeal, Ilorin, under the Chairmanship of Emeritus Professor Is’haq Olanrewaju Oloyede, Registrar/CEO JAMB.
This year’s awardees comprise of 1 Lifetime Achievement award, 4 Presidential Awards, 10 Excellence Awards and 14 Achievement Awards made up of 2 Permanent Secretaries, 8 Professors, 6 Directors, 6 Fellows of various professional bodies, and 6 Ph.D holders.
Amongst the distinguished honorees are Professor Yusuf Olaolu Ali SAN, a Distinguished Legal Luminary, former Pro Chancellor, & Chairman of Council Osun State University, who would be awarded the first of its kind Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.
Engr. Mohammed Buari, the National President, emphasized that the individuals being honored were meticulously selected for their outstanding accomplishments across various domains of human endeavor.
“We are delighted to celebrate these 29 distinguished members who have not only excelled in their chosen fields but have also made significant contributions to the growth and development of UNIFEMGA,” the President said. “Their achievements serve as an inspiration to all our members and showcase the immense potential of our association.”
The UNIFEMGA Honors Day is expected to attract a large gathering of dignitaries, academics, professionals, and members of the Muslim community. The event is also expected to be streamed live to enable members from all over the world to participate.
