UIMGA grants scholarship to 20 indigent Muslim students

The University of Ibadan Muslim Graduates Association (UIMGA) held her 2024 Annual Scholarship Award for twenty
(20) indigent Muslim students from University of Ibadan,  Ladoke Akintola University of Technology,  Ogbomoso ,OSUN state University and Bayero University Kano on Sunday 28th July 2024 at Prof.MOA Abdul Islamic Centre, University of Ibadan.

The twenty students received a sum of N50,000 each,  totaling N1m in the 18th edition of the annual awards. 

Cheques were presented to the beneficiaries by the UIMGA National President, Alhaji Imran AbdulMojeed and Alhaja Hadrat AbdulAzeez from USA, who represented members of the association in the diaspora.

Alhaja Hadrat AbdulAzeez and the Chairman of UIMGA scholarship scheme , Alh(Engr) Abdullah Wale Adelakun advised the beneficiaries to be good ambassadors of Islam , while Professor Sherifat Aboaba delivered a short lecture titled “Striving for Academic Excellence and Brazing up for the Challenges ahead” to admonish the students on the need to struggle towards graduating with good results amidst excellent social capital and character.

She also emphasized the need for them to develop  entrepreneural skills, rather than hoping for white collar jobs after graduation.       

The association’s National President offered prayers for all donors and members of the association at home and in diaspora.

He advised the students to pay back into the society by ensuring active participation in the association’s activities after their graduation.
