Tinubu to Embark on Lesser Hajj

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja on Thursday for Makkah, Saudi Arabia, to perform the lesser Hajj, known as Umrah, and offer prayers for Nigeria’s peace, unity, stability and continued progress.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the pilgrimage will provide Tinubu with an opportunity for spiritual reflection and devotion while seeking Allah’s guidance and blessings for Nigeria and its citizens.

During his stay in the holy city of Makkah, the President is expected to perform the religious rites associated with Umrah and pray for the nation’s continued peace, unity and development.

Before departing Abuja, Tinubu will commission equipment acquired by the Nigerian Air Force for its operations at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.

The statement added that the President is expected to return to Nigeria next week after completing the spiritual exercise.
