Terrorists have attacked the convoy of President Muhammadu Buhari’s advance team to his Daura home town. This scary news was announced in a press statement by Presidential spokesman,
Garba Shehu who said “The attackers opened fire on the convoy from ambush positions but were repelled by the military, police and DSS personnel accompanying the convoy.” Shehu said two persons in the convoy were receiving treatment for the minor injuries they suffered and that all the other personnel, staff and vehicles made it safely to Daura.
However, a policeman spokesman in Katsina said an assistant commissioner of police Aminu Umar and another police officer were killed in a terrorist ambush in Dutsinma the same day.Gambo Isah did not say if the presidential convoy was involved in that attack.
He said Umar and his team were on a “clearance operation” when they were ambushed by “terrorists numbering over 300 on motorcycles, shooting sporadically with AK 47 rifles and General Purpose Machine Guns.”
