Former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki on Saturday, 12th April 2025 paid a visit to Professor Yusuf Ali SAN to congratulate him on his turbaning as the first Kuliyan Ngeri of the Ilorin Emirate on him.
Prof Ali was officially turbaned on Friday by the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari at an elaborate event at the Emir’s Palace.
Saraki, a former governor of Kwara State posted on his Facebook page on Saturday that “Upon my arrival in Ilorin today, my first stop was at the residence of Prof. Yusuf Olaolu Ali, SAN, to congratulate him on his recent conferment as the 1st Kuliya Ngeri of Ilorin.
“It was indeed an honour to welcome him into the Emirate Council as the foremost legal scholar and expounder of jurisprudence and I wish him continued wisdom and strength as he serves the Emirate and our dear State.
“Afterwards, I proceeded to the palace, where I paid my respects to our royal father, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, and expressed my delight at the successful turbaning of Prof. Ali as the Kuliya Ngeri. It’s always a pleasure to meet the Emir in high spirits and good health.”
