Frontline politician and Chairman Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority, comprising Bauchi, Gombe, Taraba and Adamawa States, Alhaji Sanusi Baban Takko (Barayan Bauchi) has paid tributes to the Nigerian Armed Forces, the nation’s founding fathers and President Bola Tinubu.

In a statement on the occasion of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day, he said “the contributions of our gallant Armed Forces, as well as the nation’s indefatigable founding fathers and President Bola Tinubu to the unity and progress of Nigeria are worthy of commendation.”

He added that “The contributions
of Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, First Prime Minister of Nigeria; Dr. Nnamdi Azikwe, First Civilian President of Nigeria;  Sir Ahmadu Bello (The Sadauna of Sokoto); Chief Obafemi Awolowo; Chief Anthony Enahoro; Chief Solomon Lar; Dr. Festus Okotie Eboh; Alhaji Yusuf Maitama Sule (Dan Masanin Kano); Chief Joself S. Tarka; Chief Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti; Malam Aminu Kano; Dr. Paul Unongo; Late Barayan Bauchi, Alhaji Muhammadu Baban Takko; Late Dangaladiman Adamawa, Ambassador Ahmadu Ribadu; Late Dr. Shettima Ali Monguno; Late Wazirin Katagum, Alhaji Sule Katagum; Late Wazirin Katsina, Alhaji Isa Kaita; Late Ubandoman Gombe, Alhaji Mu’azu Halliru; Late Walin Bauchi, Alhaji Abubakar Umar; Late Senator A.D Rufa’i; Elder Statesman Alhaji Yarima Balla; Alhaja Habibatu Mogaji and a  host of others will remain ever green in our minds and in our history books.”

Alhaji Sanusi Baban Takko used the opportunity of the occasion to commend President Tinubu “on the giant strides of his administration and for building on the foundation laid by our founding fathers.”
