Sultan of Sokoto and President- General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar has announced Saturday, April 2, as the day for the commencement of this year’s Ramadan.
The Sultan in special message he read on Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Network News said this was sequel to the sighting of the moon in many states, including Sokoto, Zamfara, Kano, Katsina and Plateau.
He used the occasion to call on Muslims to continue to work towards religious harmony and to ceaselessly pray for the leaders.
The Sultan also called on the leadership of the country to discharge their duties and responsibilities to the led.
He wished Muslims a peaceful and blessed Ramadan.
