Sultan of Sokoto and President General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) Sunday night announced that the crescent of Ramadan has been sighted.
In a broadcast monitored on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) around 8.39pm , the Sultan consequently said fasting would commence on Monday.
He congratulated Muslims for witnessing this year’s Ramadan and urged the well-to-do to take of the needy.
