Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar has announced that this year’s Ramadan fast will commence on Wednesday.
This, he said, followed the sighting of the moon.
Shehu of Borno, who is the Vice President-General of the NSCIA,
Alhaji (Dr.) Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al-Amin El-Kanemi, made a broadcast on Tuesday night, to that effect, on behalf of the Sultan, who is on an official engagement abroad.
Alhaji El-Kanemi congratulated the Muslim Ummah and wished them a blessed Ramadan.
