The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) is gradually witnessing some useful transformative reforms which conform to the best global admistrative practice, under the stewardship of its highly creative and down-to-earth chairman, Professor Abdullahi Usman Pakistan, all aimed at improving efficiency, efficacy and transparency in running the overall activities of the commission for optimum performance.

Notably, and the most catchy and impressive amongst the new reforms is the digitization idea, which will no doubt open a new page of hope and enthusiasm in the history of hajj management in Nigeria.
The chairman of NAHCON, Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Usman disclosed his readiness and commitment to taking the commission to a higher level of performance through the use of digitization as well as training and retraining of the commission’s workforce.
Prof. Saleh Pakistan, made the disclosure while fielding questions in a Hausa hajj programme, “Hajji Kiran Allah” being produced by NAHCON.
Part of the benefits of going digitised according to Prof. Saleh Pakistan, pilgrims will be provided with a hand-band device while in the holy land, which will assist and make it easy for locating lost pilgrims given the constant and high level of infrastructural development taking place in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, even if such pilgrims could not speak Arabic language.
Another important benefit for embracing digitization according to Prof. Abdullahi Pakistan, is easy preservation, accessibility and retrieval of information about the activities of the commission anywhere, anytime across the globe.
What a remarkable foresight by the present leadership of National Hajj Commission, under Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Usman,Pakistan.
