The Commissioner of Police and the State Director of Security Services for Kaduna State have appreciated the security apparatus of Ahmadu Bello University(ABU).
The security chiefs were on a familiarisation visit to ABU today, Wednesday, 19th August, 2026 to appreciate the university security division for its diligence in the maintenance of law and order.
The State Director, Department of State Services, Kaduna State Command, Hakeem O Abiola, fsi, led the security team on the visit to the university.
He was in company of the Commissioner of Police Rabiu Muhammad, who was ably represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abubakar Abdullahi Shika.
Also on team were DSS senior personnel, including the DSS head for Sabon Gari, Zaria.
Both security chiefs spoke when they called on the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Adamu Ahmed, in his office.
They encouraged the university security personnel to remain updated by attending relevant trainings and courses that would improve their skills.
They urged the University Management to always assist its security personnel undergo trainings and conferences both locally and internationally to further sharpen their skills.
The security chiefs stressed that they would work together with the University Management towards strengthening the synergy they already had between them and the university for the maintenance of law and order on the campuses.
Receiving the security chiefs, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Adamu Ahmed, thanked them for the visit, acknowledging, with profound appreciation, the tremendous support to the university by security agencies.
Prof Ahmed also said the university would continue to work closely with security agencies in the state for peace, unity, and harmony on the campuses.
The Registrar, Rabiu Samaila; the Dean of Students, Prof Sahalu B Junaidu; and Chief Security Officer, Malam Ashiru T Zango assisted the Vice-Chancellor in receiving the guests.
The Director, Public Affairs Directorate, Auwalu Umar and the Vice-Chancellor’s Special Assistant, Dr Ibrahim Sani Kaita were also present.
