Plateau Attack: Defence Minister, Humanitarian Minister, Service Chiefs Visit Affected LGAs

Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Muhammed Bello Matawalle  and Minister of Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betty Edu have led a powerful Federal Government delegation to visit and commiserate with the government and people of Plateau State over the recent attacks in Bokkos and Barkin- Ladin Local Government Areas of Plateau State.

Service Chiefs were part of the delegation, according to a press statement on Sunday by Henshaw Ogubike, Director (Information & Public Relations), Ministry of Defence.

The two Ministers with the delegation visited the affected areas of Bokkos and Barkin- Ladin where they  held a stakeholders’ meeting with the people of the affected communities.

They also paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang and held discussions  with him on how to stamp  out insecurity from the State.

While condoling the people of the affected communities, Dr. Matawalle reassured them of the Federal Government’s commitment to fighting all forms of criminalities that have bedeviled our communities and nation in general.

“Mr. President has directed that we visit you people and to reassure you that Military will restore peace in the affected communities and that the perpetrators of this dastardly act will be arrested,” he said.
