Ẹgbẹ́ Àgbà Ìtẹ̀síwájú Yorùbá has described the late Chief Ayo Adebanjo as a custodian of Yoruba values whose life
was impactful and purposeful.
Pa Adebanjo died in his Lagos home on Friday, 14th February, 2025 at the age of 96.

CONDOLENCE MESSAGE ON THE PASSING OF PA SAMUEL AYODELE ADEBANJO

With deep sorrow and a heavy heart, Ẹgbẹ́ Àgbà Ìtẹ̀síwájú Yorùbá mourns the passing of a distinguished elder statesman and an unwavering defender of the Yorùbá heritage, Pa Adebanjo.
Pa Adebanjo was more than just a leader; he was a beacon of courage, a custodian of Yorùbá values, and a firm believer in fairness, virtue, and progress. His lifelong dedication to the upliftment of Yorùbá people, his unwavering commitment to democracy, and his fearless voice in the pursuit of democratic values made him a pillar of strength, not just for Afenifere, but for the entire Yorùbá race and Nigeria as a whole.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, whose loss is immeasurable, and to all Afenifere leaders. May the Almighty grant them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. We share in this grief, knowing that a great leader has departed. In spite of this, his legacies remain a guiding light for all who cherish freedom and development.
To the entire Yorùbá nation, let us take solace in the fact that Pa Adebanjo lived a life of impact, integrity, and purpose. His footprints in the sands of time will ever be remembered, and his ideals will continue to inspire generations to come.
