RE: ONIBISE OF KOMU VACANT STOOL: A DISCLAIMER
The attention of ONIBISE FOLARIN RULING FAMILY OF KOMU has been drawn to a circulating voicemail that originated from one Tajudeen Oloyede to the effect that he has been nominated to fill the vacant stool of Onibise of Komu in Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Ordinarily, such shenanigans should not have warranted any response; but this Press Statement becomes necessary so that the General Public might not be deceived to fall into falsehood being orchestrated by an outcast and a discredited personality and his ilks, who want to use all fraudulent and foul means to usurp power over a community they are engaged in war with.

To set the records straight, we want the General Public to have the following facts behind the whole matter:
1. There are two ruling families to the stool of Onibise of Komu namely: Agbosoye and Folarin, that rotate ascension to the Onibise stool in succession.
2. The late Onibise of Komu, Oba Thomas Opoola Olaore Folawiyo, Ariina111, was from Agbosoye family; the same family that Tajudfeen Oloyede belongs.
3. The stool became vacant when the late Oba Olaore Folawiyo was elevated and presented with the Instrument of Office on January 26, 2024 as Baale of Komu in line with the extant Baale Komu Chieftaincy Declaration of 1979.
4. Immediately after the demise of Oba Olaore Folawiyo on February 7, 2024, even when the deceased was yet to be given the rites of passage, a section of Agbosoye family, which Tajudeen Oloyede and his co-travellers belong, wrote to the Itesiwaju Local Government Authorities that he, Tajudeen Oloyede has been selected to fill the vacant stool of Onibise of Komu; a process that is not only contrary to traditions, but also against established protocols for the selection of traditional rulers in Yorubaland.
5. The Itesiwaju Local Government Authorities became puzzled and confused when the Ibise Community communicated the Council for the commencement of the proper procedure to fill the vacant stool.
6. It was this confusion that the meeting of Thursday, April 3, 2025 was meant to address; where the Head of Agbosoye family was expected to officially transmit the Onibise Stool to the Folarin family in the presence of Itesiwaju Local Government Council officials, as observers.
7. It should be noted and emphasized that the meeting was not conveyed to select a successor to the vacant stool of Onibise of Komu, an authority vested with the Ibise Kingmakers, on the recommendation of the Folarin family, whose turn it is to ascend the Onibise Stool.
8. It was this meeting that Tajudeen Oloyede mobilized unknown people from various places to disrupt in defiance of the Head of Agbosoye family and against the established protocols for the meeting.
9. It should also be emphasized the chaotic atmosphere orchestrated by Tajudeen Oloyede and his gangs of strangers, did not even permit the meeting to hold, not to talk of any call for nomination by any Council officials who were there only to observe and take records.
In conclusion, we sincerely advise members of the General Public to be weary of the antics of Tajudeen Oloyede and members of his discredited clan, as the facts stated above can be cross checked with the authorities of Itesiwaju Local Government Council, Ibise Executive Committee and Ibise Kingmakers.
Thank you.
