Ondo APC governorship aspirant, Akintelure is dead

A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Dr Paul Akintelure, is dead.

Akintelure died in the early hours of Tuesday in Lagos after a brief illness.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Akintelure, a medical doctor hailed from Igbotako in Okitipupa Local Government Area of the state.

One of Akintelure’s family members who simply mentioned his name as Akintunde, confirmed to NAN on Tuesday in Okitipupa that the politician died in Lagos after a brief illness.

“We learnt he died this morning in Lagos after a brief illness, ” he said.

NAN also reports that Akintelure was the running mate to the late former governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu during the 2012 governorship election on the platform of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN). (NAN)
